Christine - Lives in Harlington but was brought up in neighbouring Sipson. Her youngest son attends Heathrow Primary School, the same school she attended as a child.

NoTRAG ~ Christine's story

I have always lived in this area, my 76-year-old mother still lives in the family home that her parents moved into in the 1930s. My sister's home is at the other end of the Sipson village. We support one another; I couldn't volunteer to work with a wide variety of community projects if I had endless worries about childcare for my two sons.

When my mother was sole carer for my father, who developed dementia, she knew she could call on any one of her five children to help. My three brothers live within 20 minutes drive of Sipson and will all be affected by expansion at Heathrow.

You hear stories of parts of London where neighbours never talk to one another and where communities are breaking down. It makes you realise that we have something special here.

Our problem is now one of blight. Who wants to plan a long-term future in an area under threat of destruction?

I have been with NoTRAG since it was formed in 2002, and I am convinced this is a battle we will win - and when we win we want to be sure that our villages are safe forever.
