NoTRAG is a residents' organisation, supported by the London Borough of Hillingdon, which is opposed to the building of a third runway at Heathrow Airport. The third runway will destroy Sipson Village, part of Harmondsworth and will reduce the size of Harlington. More than 700 homes will be lost.
NoTRAG believes there should be no more runways at Heathrow, no increase in flights and no abolition of current measures which give some respite from noise: Westerly Preference, The Cranford Agreement and runway alternation.
Air pollution levels are already high in the area around Heathrow. The European Union has strict limits on the levels of Nitrogen Dioxide permitted. Yet the majority of air quality monitors around Heathrow already show levels well above these limits - that is before a third runway and a predicted 50% in road traffic!
We insist that it makes no sense to build a third runway in an area already struggling with high levels of noise and pollution.
